Metro Public Health Department announces results of 2025 Fight Flu Day

The Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) administered a total of 621 doses of flu vaccine to the public on Tuesday, October 21 as part of Fight Flu Day. Flu shots will be available free of charge at all MPHD clinics for the rest of flu season.

Tuesday's total includes 134 doses of the high-dose flu vaccine, recommended for those 65 and older and those with underlying health conditions. The 621 doses of flu vaccine administered by MPHD at Fight Flu Day's three separate Davidson County sites compares to 2024's total, when 635 flu vaccines were administered by MPHD across five separate sites.

Those in need of a flu vaccine can make an appointment at their nearest MPHD clinic. Appointments are available Monday-Friday at the Lentz Public Health Center, the Woodbine Public Health Center and the East Public Health Center. Regular and high-dose vaccines are available at all clinics. Appointments can be made by phone at the following clinics:

The Metro Public Health Department recommends all persons six months of age and older consider getting the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine is designed to protect against three different strains of the flu.
