Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda Fan Xuecheng Attends the Presidential Commissioning of a Chinese Project

On April 24, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Fan Xuecheng attended the commissioning of the6,000-ton/day West Cement Uganda clinker line in Moroto, graced by H.E. President Yoweri K. Museveni of Uganda. Jessica Alupo, Vice President of the Republic of Uganda; Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development; Counselor Wang Jianxun of the Chinese Embassy, and Company representatives, were also present.

Chargé d'affaires Fan noted that under the strategic guidance of the heads of two nations, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Uganda has continued to develop, with pragmatic cooperation in infrastructure and industrialization, and significant growth in bilateral trade. The successful commissioning of this cement project is an important achievement of the deepening pragmatic cooperation between China and Uganda, which will strongly promote employment growth and industrial upgrading in Uganda, injecting new impetus into Uganda's Vision 2040.

President Museveni highly praised Chinese government for encouraging enterprises to invest in Uganda, and commended Chinese enterprises for their important contributions. Uganda government will continue to optimize investment policies and create more stable business environment, to attract more international investors and jointly promote the industrialization of Uganda.
