Update Jan. 25, 5:08 p.m.
NCCU officials continue to monitor the ongoing winter storm which has brought wintry precipitation to central N.C., including Durham and surrounding areas, over the weekend. While the university has not experienced power outages thus far, extremely low temperatures and the potential for black ice and dangerous travel are forecast for Monday and Tuesday.
The university will operate under Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy on Monday, Jan. 26, from 12 a.m., through 11:59 p.m. Classes are cancelled on Monday, Jan. 26, and all non-essential campus operations are suspended during this period.
University leadership will continue to assess conditions in and around campus and issue further guidance on operations for the week on Monday, Jan. 26.
EMPLOYEES
Faculty and staff should take reasonable precautions for personal safety. Mandatory employees, as determined by their supervisor, are required to report to work. Supervisors may allow non-mandatory employees to work virtually. If an employee is unable to report to work due to weather conditions or is unable to work virtually, that employee must take leave consistent with the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy.
