Geosyntec Practitioners to Speak on Environmental Risks in Property Transitions

Lisa Hall, PE; Kawal Kaur, PhD; and Mahsa Shayan, PhD, PE, PEng, IntPE, will participate in a presentation and panel addressing environmental risks in property transactions on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. PT, in Ontario, California.

Mahsa will speak on the panel, and Kawal will moderate.

Their copanelists are Kara Dutton from PNC Bank, Doris Nguyen from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control Equitable Communities Revitalization Grant, Jamie Endres-Keller from Avison Young, and Jennifer Dorgan from Allen Matkins. Before the panel, Lisa will give a presentation outlining strategies to mitigate environmental risks.

The event is hosted by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Inland Empire and sponsored by Geosyntec.

Lisa is a Principal Mechanical Engineer based in California with more than 30 years of experience as a project manager, building and leading teams to navigate through all phases of environmental projects. She has experience conducting environmental investigations, implementing remedial actions, and negotiating with regulatory agencies.

Kawal is a Senior Scientist based in California who focuses on environmental due diligence, site investigations, remediation, and environmental engineering projects. She supports clients by evaluating environmental liabilities, developing remediation strategies, and implementing solutions that help manage risk and support informed decisions.

Mahsa is a Principal Engineer based in California with more than 15 years of experience focused on contaminant fate and transport, site investigation, and remediation. She specializes in assessing and treating nonaqueous-phase liquids (NAPLs), per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and other conventional and emerging contaminants.

This event brings together environmental, legal, regulatory, lending, and development professionals to discuss strategies for identifying, managing, and mitigating environmental risks in property transactions.
