Marion County Celebrates 'Give4Marion Day' to Support Local nonprofits

The Marion County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed today, Sept. 16, 2025, as Give4Marion Day in celebration of the local nonprofits that make a lasting difference in our community.

Hosted annually by the Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion, Give4Marion provides a 24-hour platform for fundraising, awareness, and community engagement. Over the past five years, this event has raised more than $6 million for local nonprofits, fueling programs and services that directly benefit residents across Marion County.

"These nonprofits really make a difference in our community," said Lauren Deiorio, president and executive director of the Community Foundation. "We kick off at 10 a.m. today and we have our donors ready. We will celebrate tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. with a celebration party. These guys are the true heroes in all of it. And we want to make sure they are able to raise as much money during this event as possible. Check out all the non-profits on Give4Marion.org."

County leaders echoed the importance of supporting local organizations that strengthen Marion County's quality of life.

"This isn't just about giving, but if you have a passion for something in our community, I guarantee you that you can find a nonprofit to volunteer with in our community," said County Commissioner Matt McClain. "Together, we can make a difference."

The proclamation highlights that Give4Marion exemplifies the spirit of unity, compassion, and generosity that defines Marion County. It encourages residents to donate, volunteer, and spread the word to maximize community impact.

"Give4Marion Day has become a cherished tradition in Marion County," the proclamation reads, "fostering collaboration between nonprofits, local businesses, and residents to address critical needs and improve the well-being of our community."

Residents are encouraged to join the movement, explore local nonprofits, and learn more about ways to get involved at Give4Marion.org.
