Boise State University's annual open enrollment period for employee benefits begins Monday, April 21, and will end Friday, May 9, 2025. The enrollment window gives benefit-eligible faculty and staff an opportunity to review, update or make changes to their benefits for the upcoming fiscal year.
Changes made during the open enrollment period will go into effect on July 1, 2025.
Open enrollment is the once-a-year opportunity for eligible employees to make changes to their benefit selections, including:
Human Resources and Workforce Strategy encourages all benefit-eligible employees to review plan options, compare coverage levels and costs, and choose the coverage that best supports their health and financial well-being in the year ahead.
Elections made during open enrollment are effective July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026, unless a qualifying life event occurs. No action is required if there is not a change in coverage, or enrolling or re-enrolling in an FSA.
The FY26 Open Enrollment Information Event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, in the Student Union Hatch Ballroom. The State of Idaho has announced premium increases for FY26. Most plans will see modest increases, while the Traditional Plan will experience a more significant rise.

Boise State will continue to contribute a substantial portion of employee medical and dental premium costs. Premium rates are influenced by factors including plan utilization, providers and hospital costs, enrollment trends and the overall rise in healthcare expenses.
