DeCA Internal Recall 2025-013 Fresh Express Tender Leaf Blends

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) has announced a voluntary targeted product recall due to the presence of insect larvae in bags of two varieties of Fresh Express Tender Leaf Blends.

This internal recall affects only the following DeCA zones: Zone 1 (Virginia, Maryland); Zone 2 (Washington, D.C., Maryland and Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico), Zone 3 (North and South Carolina); Zone 5 (Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey); Zone 6 (New York and New England); and the Pittsburgh Area Commissary in Zone 11.

  • Fresh Express Tender Leaf Blends, Spinach, eight ounces. Best by date of Nov. 1, 2025, lot number H2890118:25; UPC 71279 13204.
  • Fresh Express Tender Leaf Blends Spinach and Arugula, five ounces. Best by date of Nov. 1, 2025, lot number H2890118:30; UPC 71279 27119

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to stores located in the mentioned zones, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.

Commissary customers in possession of the affected products should return them to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
