10/31/2025 - OlyPD Weekly Update 10-23 to 10-29-25

Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • Officers arrested suspects in two of the aggravated assaults reported this week and the third is an open investigation. In one case, the suspect spit on the officer arresting him for a simple assault. In the other arrest, the suspect strangled the victim with a belt and bit their ear.
  • Two residential burglaries and a robbery reported that are all open investigations.
  • Three commercial burglaries. Charges were referred to the prosecutor after the suspect returned to a store previously trespassed from and stole over $1,400 in beauty products. She was identified through security cameras. One case is an open investigation. In the third case, a suspect forced open a storage closet overnight and accessed the building's basement. Nothing appeared to be missing.
  • Four bikes were stolen in three theft cases. Two had bike locks cut. The two other bikes were stolen from a storage shed. Two bikes were recovered.
  • Eleven vehicle prowls or vandalisms reported. Sunglasses, a cell phone, a purse, a wallet, a firearm, car keys and titles and registrations were some of the properties stolen.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 949 calls for service this week.
  • There were six DUI arrests over the weekend. If you're planning to drink at any events this week, especially Halloween parties, make sure you have a safe way to get home.
  • This week's photo is from our Costume with a Cop last week. It was great seeing everyone who came out!
  • We hope everyone has a safe Halloween. If you're heading out for trick-or-treating, wear bright clothing, carry a flashlight and travel in groups so drivers can see you. Cross streets at cross walks and avoid crossing between parked cars or other obstacles. Make eye contact with drivers before crossing the street. Driving on Halloween night? Slow down, even if you don't see trick-or-treaters, they can appear unexpectedly. Reduce distractions by turning down the radio and silencing your phone while driving, especially in neighborhoods.
  • There will be no newsletter next week, I'll be out of the office for a couple days.
