Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an amendment request for the following:
APPLICANT: University of Alaska
PROJECT NAME: ADL 420615
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: At the east end of the spur dike between Mileposts 374 and 375 of the Dalton Highway. Latitude 69.6745, Longitude -148.65435.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within Section 27, Township 4 North, Range 14 East, Umiat Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Addition of a new site for the installation of temporary monitoring equipment at a gravel bar on the Sagavanirktok River. The site will include installation of up to 5 temporary pressure transducers to monitor water levels and sediment transport. The current Special Land Use Permit is attached for reference.
REQUESTED TERM: 10 years
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: June 3, 2026
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
