Lane Closures Planned for SR 25 in Port Wentworth

PORT WENTWORTH - Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) contractors will implement temporary lane closures this week on State Route (SR) 25 bridge crossings at the Savannah and Middle River.

Beginning today, crews may close a single lane for daytime or overnight closures to complete on-site work and final paving. Contractors will use flaggers with pace vehicles and temporary signals to maintain the flow of traffic during the closures. This work is anticipated to be completed on Friday, October 24.

As part of this project, new bridges were constructed just north of and parallel to the old bridge alignments and as of April both were opened to traffic.

Motorists are advised to stay alert and follow posted speed limits in the construction zones and when traveling this new roadway.
