New Report Shows How Trump’s Tax Breaks for the Rich Will Cut Health Care as Trump Wines and Dines with Big Billionaires Arrow

This evening, Donald Trump is playing host to some of the world's biggest billionaires. While Trump chums it up with the ultra-rich, working families are bracing for devastating health care cuts under Trump's billionaire-first budget.

A new report shows that for every $80,000 tax break each millionaire gets, at least four Americans will lose their health care and many others will see their benefits reduced.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"As Trump wines and dines with big billionaires, he's sending a clear message: he couldn't care less about the pain he's causing working families. Millions of Americans are going to lose their health care so that Trump's billionaire buddies and donors can cash in on the massive tax handouts in his cruel budget bill. Republicans are now attempting a rebrand of their own bill because they know how unpopular it is, but Trump's lavish dinner party makes it pretty obvious where his priorities lie - with the rich and powerful."

Trump's so-called "signature achievement" is the largest wealth transfer from the working and middle class to the ultra-rich and the biggest health care cut in history. Republicans are panicking about how unpopular the bill is and now they are scrambling to rebrand the bill as a "tax cut for working families." The reality is that it's a massive tax break for millionaires and billionaires paid for by $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act marketplaces, and will leave at least 15 million more Americans uninsured.
