Governor Newsom signs legislation 8.24.2026
SACRAMENTO - Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:
- AB 1778 by Assemblymember Joe Patterson (R-Rocklin) - Controlled substances: testosterone.
- AB 2056 by Assemblymember David Alvarez (D-San Diego) - Teachers: exchange programs: local educational agencies.
- AB 2134 by Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) -- City council members: absences without permission.
- AB 2692 by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) - Common interest developments: reinstatement of terminated declarations: County of Los Angeles.
- SB 557 by Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Bakersfield) - Child abuse: family resource centers.
- SB 897 by Senator Steven Choi, Ph.D (R-Irvine) - Vehicles: abandoned vehicles.
- SB 927 by Senator Steven Choi, Ph.D (R-Irvine) - Intercountry adoption finalized in a foreign country.
