I Squared Announces Timo Poppe as Senior Advisor

I Squared Capital ("I Squared"), a leading independent global infrastructure investment manager, today announced that Timo Poppe, CEO of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH ("EEW"), has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. In this role, Timo will advise I Squared on the sourcing, evaluation, and development of infrastructure investment opportunities across Europe, while continuing his role as CEO of EEW.

His appointment comes as Europe enters a new phase of infrastructure investment, driven by digitalisation, industrial competitiveness, the energy transition and the need to modernise essential infrastructure. Timo's deep operational and strategic experience will further strengthen I Squared's ability to identify and build high-quality infrastructure businesses across the region.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in European infrastructure, Timo brings deep operational expertise spanning energy, utilities, network infrastructure, and digital transformation. His appointment further strengthens I Squared's global network of Senior Advisors, providing the firm and its portfolio companies with direct access to experienced industry leaders.

Timo has spent more than two decades in senior leadership roles across European infrastructure. He is currently CEO of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH, one of Europe's leading waste-to-energy platforms. Prior to EEW, he was the founder and Managing Director of Palladio Kommunal GmbH, and held senior executive positions at EWE AG and swb AG, where he led major investment and transformation programs in energy, network, and digital infrastructure. He has also served on the supervisory boards of numerous infrastructure businesses, including as Chairman of the supervisory boards of EWE NETZ GmbH, Harzwasserwerke GmbH, and hanseWasser Bremen GmbH.
