WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Jan. 23, 2025 - SMPTE®, the home of media professionals, technologists, and engineers, today announced that Raymond Yeung is taking over the role of standards vice president for the Society. Yeung began his tenure on Jan. 1 and will serve as standards vice president for the remainder of 2025.
"I am honored to be serving as the new standards vice president," said Yeung. "Leading this renowned standards development institution is a great responsibility, and one that I take very seriously. I plan to draw from my experience serving as a SMPTE standards director and chair of Technology Committee 35PM to drive innovation for the standards community."
Yeung is the head of content standards at Amazon MGM Studios Technology, where he is focused on advancements in the media supply chain. With extensive experience in digital visual effects and film mastering, he joined the HDR imaging development effort at Dolby Laboratories in 2012. Yeung is a SMPTE Life Fellow and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
