Mayors’ International Bike Ride Returns October 25

YUMA, Ariz. - The City of Yuma reminds residents and visitors that the 9th Mayors' International Bike Ride takes place on Saturday, October 25, beginning at 8 a.m. from the Yuma Civic Center parking lot (1440 W. Desert Hills Drive).

This free, family-friendly event brings together cyclists of all ages to celebrate community connections across Yuma County and into Northern Mexico. Guided by regional public safety agencies, riders will travel together with stops every four to five miles, including Cocopah Korner, Somerton, Gadsden, and San Luis. The ride concludes across the border in San Luis Río Colorado with a finishers celebration featuring live music, local food, and medals for all finishers. Each stop provides water, snacks, and restroom facilities to support a safe and enjoyable experience.

More than 400 cyclists are expected this year, with riders coming from across Yuma County, Southern California, regional tribal nations, Northern Mexico, and as far away as Tucson and Ensenada.

Riders are encouraged to register online in advance at yumaaz.gov/bikeride to save time, complete their required waiver ahead of the event, and make the check-in process quick and easy. The first 400 riders to register will receive a complimentary event T-shirt. Limited on-site registration will be available beginning at 7 a.m. (one form per participant; a parent/guardian must sign for and accompany riders under 18).

All participants must bring proper documentation for crossing and returning through the U.S.-Mexico border. In addition, cyclists are encouraged to bring a bicycle and helmet, sunscreen, comfortable attire, and light belongings.

For those returning to Yuma after the celebration in San Luis Río Colorado, YCAT will provide transportation back to the Yuma Civic Center. Riders who prefer more flexibility are welcome to make their own return travel arrangements.

The City of Yuma thanks this year's sponsors for making this community tradition possible: Sprouts Farmers Market, Mr. B's, Gila Innovations USA, YCAT, Farmers Insurance (Marie Plunkett), Allo Fiber, Onvida Health, Del Sol, Telemundo NBC 11 / ABC 5, Rafi Law Group, Z93 Outlaw Country, and Lamar.
