Acting Director-General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in South Sudan His Excellency Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Goc and his accompanying delegation.
During their meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways of bolstering bilateral joint cooperation.
The meeting was attended by South Sudan's Presidential Advisor Lieutenant-General Tut Gatluak Menmi, Minister of Humanitarian AffairsHis Excellency Albino Akol Atak, and a number of KFAED and South Sudanese officials, in addition to His Excellency Ambassador of South Sudan to Kuwait Mr. Awad Abdulkareem Araasto Ibrahim.
In 2015, KFAED singed a loan agreement worth KD 3.5 million (USD 11 million) with South Sudan's government to help in building Kuwait Hospital for women and children in Juba.
The project aimed at backing the development of the health sector, and meeting the increasing need for good quality health care services for women and children in Juba.
The project also provides the necessary infrastructure and technical facilities for the hospital, medical diagnostic and therapeutic equipment for a better maternal and pediatric care services.
