Vehicle weight restrictions in effect in Whiteside County

WHITESIDE COUNTY - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that effective Feb. 1, there will be 10-ton vehicle weight restrictions on the following roads in Whiteside County:

Garden Plain Road: 5 tons per axle (westbound lane only)
Freeport Road: 11 tons

Depending upon the weather, the postings will be lifted on or before May 1.
