Hector International Airport Named North Dakota's 2024 Commercial Service Airport of the Year

Fargo Hector International Airport earned the title of North Dakota's 2024 Commercial Service Airport of the Year. Presented annually at the FLY-ND Conference, this award is sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota. It honors airports that excel in community outreach, facility management and event hosting.
Hector Airport stood out for its commitment to aviation, economic growth and community service, reinforcing its role as a vital hub for the region.

Construction Update: Progress in Action
Terminal expansion is progressing smoothly and on time. The eastern section will open in early 2026, with the full renovation set to be completed in 2027 for travelers to enjoy.
Parking ramp construction is on schedule and making big strides, with expected completion this summer. The parking ramp will provide nearly 1,000 new parking spaces and a skywalk to ease commute to the terminal during colder months.
We kindly remind travelers to check our website and social media for updates on parking, drop-off and pickup locations due to the ongoing construction. We encourage you to reserve parking or valet services ahead of time.
The short-term parking lot is closed, but additional parking is available in the long-term lot, the two economy lots and a remote lot.

ArtWORKS Meets Aviation: New Art Installation
Travelers can now enjoy a vibrant new art installation by local artist Brandi Malarkey. Displayed above the baggage claim area, Malarkey's paintings display colorful flora and fauna, inviting viewers to explore nature's unique forms and textures. This installation, part of the ArtWORKS program curated by The Arts Partnership, also features reprints in the departure gate area. Don't miss this exhibit during your next trip! Are You REAL ID Ready?
Officially starting May 7, 2025, only REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses or identification cards will be accepted to board commercial flights. If your ID is not updated in time, you can use your passport to travel. Visit the Department of Homeland Security's website for more details.

Q1 Boarding Statistics: Another Record-Breaking Quarter
January
We started 2025 off strong with a record number of passengers for January! Airline passenger traffic in January increased in comparison with 2024. In January 2025, passenger enplanements surged to 48,037 - a 12% jump from 42,726 in January 2024. This marks the tenth consecutive month of record-breaking enplanements and ranks as the fifth busiest month ever. The previous January record stood since 2023.
January saw a total of 93,994 passengers, a 13% increase from the same period last year. Airlines operated 612 departures, averaging 96 seats per flight, with a daily passenger count of 3,032.
February
February 2025 continued the trend of rising airline passenger traffic, surpassing February 2024. Passenger enplanements reached 47,971, marking a 10% increase from 43,691 last year. This also sets a new record for February, breaking the previous high from 2020. It was the 11th consecutive month of record-breaking enplanements.
Total passenger traffic for the month hit 94,574, up 10% from the previous year. Airlines operated 578 departures, averaging 97 seats per flight, with a daily passenger count of 3,378.
March
March closed out the first quarter of 2025 with another all-time high for airline passenger traffic. Here are the highlights:
For the first time in Hector's history, total monthly passengers (on + off) exceeded 100,000, with a total of 115,220 - up 26% from last year.
