10x Genomics Expands Visium Platform with Launch of Visium HD 3’ Gene Expression, Unlocking Deeper Spatial Recovery

New assay delivers high-resolution whole transcriptome data to explore biology beyond known genes

PLEASANTON, Calif., May 13, 2025 - 10x Genomics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TXG), a leader in single cell and spatial biology, today announced the launch of Visium HD 3' Gene Expression, a powerful new assay that expands the capabilities of the Visium HD portfolio beyond the boundaries of known genes and species. The new Visium HD 3' assay introduces 10x's first high-resolution spatial transcriptomics solution purpose-built for de novo discovery, empowering researchers to explore biology beyond known genes, annotated genomes and traditional model organisms.

Using a 3' polyadenylated RNA capture chemistry that is compatible with fresh frozen tissues, the assay supports species-agnostic analysis across human, mouse, rat, non-human primates, canine, zebrafish and more. Researchers now have the capability to interrogate isoforms, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and immune repertoires, including T Cell and B Cell receptors, with single cell resolution and spatial context. The assay also expands applications in translational research, enabling high-fidelity spatial profiling of xenografts and other complex biological models.
