Sheridan County Farm Bureau and Nebraska Farm Bureau remained neutral on the bond proposal.
Matt Albrecht, president of Sheridan County Farm Bureau said, "Farmers and ranchers deserve a strong voice in decisions that affect our property taxes and the future of our rural communities. That's why it was important for us to be part of the Gordon-Rushville school bond discussion. The Sheridan County bond meeting was a great opportunity for our community to come together, ask questions, and better understand an issue that affects local families, farmers, and ranchers."
Voters in the Gordon-Rushville Public Schools district will consider a $24.85 million bond during the Nov. 3 general election. According to the district, the proposal carries an estimated property tax increase of 16.2 cents per $100 of valuation. With over 65 attendees, the meeting gave residents additional information ahead of the November vote, particularly about the financial implications of the proposal for agricultural and residential property owners.
