Boyle Statement on Trump Pulling U.S. Troops from Germany

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Lead Democrat of the U.S. Congressional Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, released the following statement after reports that President Trump is withdrawing 5,000 U.S. troops from Germany:

"Donald Trump is pulling 5,000 American troops out of Germany because he cannot handle criticism from one of our closest allies, criticism he knows is true. He has completely bungled his war in Iran and is now lashing out like a child instead of taking responsibility.

Our troop presence in Germany protects American security, strengthens NATO, and helps deter Vladimir Putin. Weakening it because the President's feelings got hurt is childish, weak, and dangerous."
