Rep. Frankel Statement on International Criminal Court (ICC) Sanction Vote

Washington, DC - Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after voting in favor of legislation that would sanction individuals and entities affiliated with the International Criminal Court (ICC).

"I voted to sanction individuals and entities affiliated with the International Criminal Court (ICC) following its baseless and politically motivated decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant for their defense of Israel after an attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023," said Rep. Frankel. "This unprecedented action, targeting the leader of a democratic nation, undermines the credibility of the ICC and weaponizes international law. Israel's war in Gaza is a matter of existential necessity and self-defense, not choice. The United States must stand with Israel and work with allies to reject this egregious overreach and protect the principles of justice and sovereignty."
