On February 10, Vahe Gevorgyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Thailand (with residence in Beijing), presented his credentials to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand.
During the solemn ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, Ambassador Gevorgyan emphasized his readiness to make every effort to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples.
The King of Thailand congratulated Ambassador Gevorgyan on assuming his post and wished him success in his mission.
The King noted that the warm and constructive relations between the two countries constitute an important foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation, as well as for advancing initiatives aimed at developing regional and global cooperation.
Following the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador Vahe Gevorgyan held a meeting with Thailand's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, during which issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
The Armenian Ambassador presented the priorities of Armenia's presidency of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Armenia this October, and expressed gratitude to Thailand for its active cooperation in the framework of COP17.
