Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanies Prime Minister of Thailand on the sideline of the 3rd ACD Summit in Doha, in the royal audience with Amir of the State of Qatar and the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait as well as the bilateral meetings with various leaders attending the Meeting

On 3 October 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand, on the sideline of the 3rd ACD Summit in Doha, in the royal audience with His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the royal audience with Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, the bilateral meetings with H.E. Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as other leaders attending the Meeting.

During the meetings, the Thai Prime Minister, expressed a deep concern with the worsening humanitarian situation in the region that has affected the innocent civilians, and called on all parties to comply with the international humanitarian law and the Charter of the United Nations, while Thailand stands ready to support the regional peace process. The Prime Minister also stressed that ACD could be a good consultation forum to expand cooperation as it comprises many leaders in the region, and express appreciation for all efforts in the release of 23 Thai hostages from Gaza and sought further assistance to secure the remaining 6 Thai hostages.

All leaders expressed their readiness to work with Thailand in various sectors of mutual benefits, such as energy, trade and investment, sports, culture, medical tourism, agricultural and halal products. Thailand, on the other hand, stands ready to be a crucial part of supply chain in food security for countries in the region.
