Deadlines for scholarships are approaching soon for recurring Oklahoma State University students seeking financial support.

  • Deadline: Feb 1

Other Scholarships:

  • Wentz Research Scholarship: The deadline is Feb. 11, 2026. A $6,000 one-year Wentz Research Grant will be awarded to 40 undergraduate students. This grant will aid in independent research projects chosen by students and will receive guidance from faculty mentors. Students complete an application for the Wentz Research Award, and eligible students undergo additional review to be considered for one of up to four Purdie Research Awards. Purdie Research Scholarships provide significant support ($8,000) for undergraduate research in the physical sciences.
  • Niblack Research Scholarships: The deadline is Feb. 7. Scholars receive a $2,000 stipend for the fall semester, a $2,000 stipend for the spring semester and a $4,000 stipend for the summer semester. NRS must commit to working in a laboratory for the fall semester, spring semester, and two summer months.

National scholarships dates/deadlines for continuing OSU students

Deadlines and key dates for prominent national scholarships are as follows:

  • The Gates Cambridge Scholarship: Applications opened in September, deadline is Oct. 15, 2025. Applicants are notified in December, with scholars selected in January.
  • The Goldwater Scholarship: Requires institutional nomination, which is available until Oct. 13, 2025. National deadline is Jan. 30, 2026. Scholars are announced in late March.
  • The Truman Scholarship: Requires institutional nomination, which is available until Oct. 13, 2025. National deadline is Feb. 3, 2026. Scholars are announced in April.
  • The Udall Scholarship: Requires institutional nomination, which is available until Oct. 13, 2025. National deadline is early March 2026. Scholars are announced in May.
  • The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship: Applications are open now and due on Oct. 8, 2025. No institutional endorsement required.

For next year:

It is never too early to start thinking ahead about scholarships. These prestigious scholarship applications are due in late spring 2026. All of these require institutional nomination.

  • The Marshall Scholarship: Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to 50 scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at a UK institution in any field of study.
  • The Rhodes Scholarship: The Rhodes Trust is an educational charity that supports exceptional students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford.
