Time to Fall Back: Daylight Saving Time Ends Nov. 1

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (Sunday, November 1, 2026) - Enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, Nov. 1. This means we'll "fall back" one hour, setting our clocks back at 2 a.m. to 1 a.m.

In addition to changing the time on clocks and electronic devices that don't change automatically, it's also a good time to:

  • Check on the status and change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Check and change batteries in essential devices around the house, such as door locks and car remotes.
  • Prepare your car for winter driving.
  • Take stock of your emergency kit, make sure everything is up to date, and check the expiration dates on food items and the quality of batteries in flashlights.
Standard time will last until March 14, 2027, when we will again "spring forward" with the return of Daylight Saving Time.
