The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tarrant Regional Water District and the City of Fort Worth will host an open house on Thursday, Oct. 22. This marks the second consecutive year the partner agencies have hosted the open house, which provides an opportunity for the community to learn more about the Central City Flood Control Project and stay informed about its progress.
The meeting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at Northside Community Center, located at 1100 N.W. 18th St. in Fort Worth.
With significant momentum on this important flood control project, the public is invited to learn more and get updates on current and upcoming developments, including construction of the North Bypass Channel and the Ham Branch restoration project.
In-person participants are welcome to come and go and will be able to review project materials and interact with staff in attendance.
The project is a vital initiative to manage flood risk to protect thousands of homes, businesses and over 1 million people in the 10th largest city in the country.
The Central City Flood Control Project is led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in partnership with the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) and the City of Fort Worth. The project will work to improve key infrastructure north of downtown and involves rerouting a section of the Trinity River and modifying Gateway Park to better manage future flood events.
For more information on the project or to ask a question, visit the USACE project webpage.
