April 2025 City Council schedule

Each month the Eugene City Council holds work sessions, meetings and public hearings that community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

A city council work session is primarily designed for discussion and exploration of various issues, policies, or projects. It provides the mayor and city council an opportunity to gather information and brainstorm ideas in a more informal and collaborative environment. During work sessions there is open dialogue among council members and City staff.

City council meetings are structured with an agenda that includes segments for councilor reports and items of interest, routine action items, action on ordinances or resolutions, and in-person public comment. These meetings follow specific rules of order, ensuring that official business is conducted effectively.

City Council public hearings focus on gathering public input on a particular issue, project, or policy. Public testimony is a key component, with participants allotted a designated time to speak. Proposed ordinances can be viewed online prior to the scheduled public hearing date.

City Council meetings and Public Hearings are typically held at the City Hall Council Chambers and include an option to tune in virtually (see details below), while Wednesday work sessions are virtual only - be sure to check the meeting listing to confirm the location.

More information about visiting City Hall, including a list of travel options, patron code of conduct and entrance requirements is available at the Visiting City Hall website.

See the City Council's tentative working agenda for additional meeting information. Please Note: Meeting topics may change or be updated. For the most up-to-date information visit the Public Webcasts and Meeting Materials web page.

How to Speak at a Council Meeting or Public Hearing

Community members can sign up to provide in-person public comment at Council Meetings and can provide in-person or virtual testimony at Public Hearings by completing the Request to Speak form on the day of the meeting or public hearing.

If you are unable to attend a meeting or public hearing or are uncomfortable speaking in public, you may also submit written testimony via email or U.S. mail. Written comments on Public Hearing topics must be submitted in a timely manner in order to become a part of the public record.
