Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire in Condominium Building

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1600 block of Thames Court. Upon arrival, crews identified a fire in the laundry area of a condominium building.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within minutes. Two condominium units were affected. No one was injured as a result of this fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and damage estimates are not available. The Wheaton Fire Department was also assisted on the scene by Wheaton Police Department and fire departments from neighboring communities.

The building was turned over to the owner after the units affected were deemed uninhabitable.
