A suspect has been arrested, and a firearm recovered, following a shooting in the Parkrose Neighborhood.

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's North Precinct responded to reports of a shooting at a motel in the 11300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned the suspect had fled the scene on foot. Officers quickly established a perimeter and conducted a search of the surrounding area. After approximately one hour, officers located and detained an adult male suspect for questioning.

Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, detectives with PPB's Homicide Unit responded to lead the investigation. Detectives located and interviewed witnesses and conducted evidence searches of nearby properties and businesses. PPB's Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) and Forensic Evidence Division (FED) also assisted with this work that ultimately led to the recovery of a firearm.

Following the investigation, the individual detained after the shooting, 40-year-old Pryce Lampkin, was formally arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) on the following charges: Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

"I want to commend our officers, detectives, and professional staff for their swift and coordinated response to this dangerous incident," Chief Bob Day said. "Their quick actions in securing the scene, locating the suspect, and beginning a thorough investigation demonstrate the professionalism and dedication our members bring to protecting the community every day. This work reflects our ongoing commitment to keeping Portland's neighborhoods safe."
