For thousands of high school seniors across the country and around the world, Friday evening, March 20, was a moment months - and often years - in the making. With a few nervous clicks on their phones laptops and tablets, they logged into the admission portal and discovered they had been admitted to UCLA.
Almost instantly, social media lit up with screams, happy tears, victory dances and hugs with family and friends as these newest Bruins shared their excitement with the world.
It's easy to understand the elation. UCLA once again received more applications than any other four-year university in the nation, with nearly 147,000 first-year students and roughly 31,000 transfer students seeking admission for fall 2026.
And for good reason. As home to top-flight academics, groundbreaking research, vibrant arts and culture, transformative public service, and a student body whose diversity and excellence reflect the best of California and the world, UCLA defines - in every way - what it means to be a great public institution.
Below is just a small sampling of the celebratory reactions that these Bruins shared with us or posted online - so join in the joy! And t o the UCLA class of 2030: Welcome to the Bruin family. You belong here. Your future begins now.
