The 3rd round of Foreign Office Consultations (FoC) between India and Kenya was held on 03 February 2026 in Nairobi, co-chaired by Shri Janesh Kain, Joint Secretary (E&SA), Ministry of External Affairs and Ambassador Jane Makori, Deputy Director General (Asia and Pacific Directorate), Ministry of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs, Kenya. On the sidelines of the FoC, Shri Janesh Kain called on Ms. Regina Ombam, Principal Secretary for Trade, and visited the Mahatma Gandhi Library at the University of Nairobi.
2. During the meeting, both sides comprehensively reviewed bilateral ties across diverse sectors, including in the areas of political, trade and investments, defence and security cooperation, digital public infrastructure, development cooperation, agriculture, health, culture and people to people ties. It was agreed to organise meetings of the Joint Commission (JCM), Joint Trade Committee (JTC) and Joint Working Group on Agriculture at an early date.
3. The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. They expressed appreciation for the close coordination and cooperation between both sides in the UN and other multilateral fora. The Indian side looked forward to high-level participation from Kenya in the forthcoming AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
4. The two sides agreed to hold the next round of foreign office consultations in India at a mutually convenient date.
