ACEP Expands Management Services to International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)

WASHINGTON, DC - The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) announce that ACEP will now provide management services for ITLS, a global nonprofit organization focused on training and education for prehospital trauma care professionals.

"Emergency medicine and trauma care are evolving rapidly on a global scale," said ITLS Chair Aaron Jeanette, BS, NRP. "Partnering with ACEP expands ITLS opportunities to address the growing demand for high-quality prehospital care through training and education that meets the needs of the professionals on the frontlines of increasingly complex global health care systems."

"ACEP's international presence, robust infrastructure and strategic capacity are a natural fit with ITLS priorities," said ACEP President L. Anthony Cirillo, MD, FACEP. "ACEP has the deep expertise to manage and grow the highest-quality training, education, and professional opportunities that span trauma care and emergency medicine worldwide."

Under the new agreement, George Solomon, MHS, FAEMS, FP-C, CCP-C, LSSBB, Director of EMS, Disaster Medicine, and Accreditation, ACEP Clinical Affairs Division, will assume the role of ITLS Executive Director.

ITLS deeply appreciates more than three decades of successful partnership and management by the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians (ICEP). New management enables ITLS to enhance support for affiliates and committees, deepen operational resilience and program consistency, and expand educational programming.

This transition is the result of extensive deliberation by the ITLS Executive Committee to identify a management partner to support ITLS transformation and steward ITLS into its next chapter.
