A dynamic player in the energy sector, North Atlantic now accounts for more than 20% of France's refining capacity. Since taking over the refinery (formerly Esso), the company has been developing new activities to enhance the value of its industrial site in Port-Jérôme.
Among these initiatives is the implementation of a bunkering service for vessels navigating up and down the Seine.
The bunkering operation was carried out using an inland barge operated by Atlantic Energy, enabling vessels to be supplied directly at berth.
This service offers several advantages:
The first bunkering operation took place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with the tanker FUJI LAVA, received at berth PJ2M.
This operation was made possible through the joint mobilization of North Atlantic teams and HAROPA PORT Rouen teams, who supported the implementation of this new service. It illustrates the ability of port stakeholders to coordinate in support of new services benefiting maritime traffic on the Seine.
It is also part of the broader momentum led by HAROPA PORT, which supports its partners' industrial and port projects in order to strengthen the range of services offered to vessels and enhance the competitiveness of the Seine logistics corridor.
