New quarter, new goals, new study spot.

With a new school year comes more opportunities to find your favorite spots on campus.

Stepping out of your comfort zone can give you the exact environment boost you need to tackle your work and collaborate on big ideas. To help navigate over 2,000 acres of campus, Triton Weeks of Welcome ambassadors and members of the Triton2Triton program shared their top places to plug in, focus and recharge across UC San Diego.

Price Center

Best for group work, late-night study sessions and social study.

  • Price Center has open seating and lounges across multiple floors, providing plentiful options for group work. Two bonuses: there are a ton of food options and the building is open 24/7!
  • The Commuter Lounge in Price Center East offers a space to plug in, computers, a printer, a kitchen, a Health and Wellness vending machine with free items and lockers for a great daytime base if you live off campus.
  • The Cross-Cultural Center on the second floor of Price Center East has a welcoming living-room vibe with couches and tables. Drop in between classes to read, decompress and connect.
  • Centrally located in Price Center Plaza, The Zone has a peaceful ambiance with snacks, wellness goodies and fun de-stress events.

Geisel Library

Best for deep, distraction-free focus or group collaboration.

  • In Geisel Library, reserving study rooms, both for yourself or a group, is easy via the library's booking system, but plan ahead during midterms and finals.
  • Hang out on the first and second floors for collaborative work, while the eighth floor offers silent study with great views.
  • Amenities are abundant, with printers, scanners, device charging and Audrey's Café for great coffee and snacks.

Warren Mall

Best for outdoor multitasking, soaking up the sun and people-watching between classes.

  • Take advantage of San Diego's near-flawless weather along Warren Mall, an outdoor study spine. The Wi-Fi is good and the people-watching is even better.
  • The shade shifts, and late afternoon can be brightest; bring a cap or move toward building overhangs.
  • Pro tip: Take a break by enjoying three nearby Stuart Collection pieces: Snake Path, Bear and Vices and Virtue.
