GFT Leaders Advance Industry Impact Through National ACEC Appointments

Advancing the engineering profession starts with collaboration, shared knowledge, and a commitment to people. Two recent national appointments within the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) reflect that commitment.

Greg Thompson is serving on the ACEC Technology Committee , which explores how technologies are shaping the engineering industry with a focus on practical application, risk awareness, innovation, and long-term value. Through this role, Thompson contributes to national conversations that support informed decision-making, thoughtful application of technology, and solutions that better serve people, projects, and communities.

"The ACEC Technology Committee brings together perspectives from across the profession to better understand how technology is influencing our work and transforming our industry," said Thompson. "I value the opportunity to contribute to work that focuses on practical value, responsible innovation, and people-centered solutions."

Nick Dandolos, CCM, PP, DBIA, ENV SP , was appointed to the ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Committee , which oversees the national awards program. The national Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes projects that solve complex infrastructure and engineering challenges while delivering measurable public benefit. His participation supports a rigorous, peer-driven process that highlights how thoughtful engineering translates expertise into real-world impact.

"The Engineering Excellence Awards showcase how purpose-driven, innovative engineering turns possibilities into meaningful results," said Dandolos. "Serving on this committee is a meaningful way to recognize work that solves real challenges and delivers lasting benefits to the communities we serve."

While the committees focus on different areas of the profession, both roles support industry leadership through service, insight, and knowledge sharing. Whether shaping how technology is applied or recognizing engineering excellence, this work helps strengthen the profession and the communities it serves.
