Archuleta County - US Highway 160 will close just east of Pagosa Springs at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 25. The full-highway closure is needed for emergency repair work to a culvert located at about a quarter mile east of the US Highway 84 junction. CDOT strongly urges local commuters and visiting travelers to be prepared. The closure will be in place for much of the morning - at least three hours.
Recent rains and excess irrigation runoff have raised water to an unsafe level for the highway at this location. Crews will pump water out and will clear debris that has obstructed the culvert and restricted water to flow freely.
