Evans: ‘Never, ever doubt that your vote matters!’

PHILADELPHIA (Nov. 4, 2026) - Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3) issued this statement today:

"Never, ever doubt that your vote matters! I want to congratulate future Speaker Hakeem Jeffries and all of the new and returning House Democrats, including Rep. Chris Rabb in my district.

"Americans have delivered a resounding 'No' to the forever war with Iran and to arbitrary blanket tariff-taxes - the twin causes of high gas and food prices; 'No' to cuts to health care and food assistance; 'No' to corruption; and 'No' to tax cuts for the wealthiest.

"Now is a time to be clear-eyed about the opportunity we have been given and focus on priorities and reforms that have broad support - governing for the mainstream rather than the extreme as the departing Republican majorities have done.

"I also congratulate Governor Shapiro and Democrats in the Pennsylvania legislature on winning a historic victory and the opportunity to raise the minimum wage and Get Stuff Done on so many other fronts for Pennsylvanians!

"All of this is ONLY possible because we the people voted."

Evans represents the 3rd Congressional District, which includes Northwest and West Philadelphia and parts of North, South, Southwest and Center City Philadelphia. He previously announced that his office returned to or saved $9.6 million for constituents in 2025 in cases involving federal agencies such as the IRS, Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs. The 2025 figure brings Evans' office's total to more than $55.1 million returned to or saved for constituents during his first nine years in Congress.
