Taft is pleased to announce that litigator Mac Malone has joined the firm's Denver office, further strengthening its Construction group.
Malone focuses his practice on construction litigation and dispute resolution, representing project owners, contractors, architects, and engineers in matters involving construction defects, delay claims, design negligence, and payment disputes. He works closely with clients to develop practical strategies that align with both their legal and business goals.
"What draws me to construction litigation is that every matter is connected to real projects, real business challenges, and the people responsible for keeping them moving," said Malone. "I'm constantly learning how construction businesses operate and how to help clients solve problems in a way that keeps their work moving forward."
In addition to his construction practice, Malone has experience handling commercial disputes, governmental liability matters, and employment-related claims. He has also been recognized for his work in the field, earning recognition as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star in Construction Litigation.
"Mac's litigation experience makes him an excellent addition to our construction team," said Tamir Goldstein, construction litigation partner and chair of Taft's Mountain West Litigation group. "He understands the complexities of the construction industry and the importance of delivering practical solutions to clients facing high-stakes disputes."
On his decision to join Taft, Malone said: "The strength of the firm's construction practice and the direction the firm is heading are what stood out to me about Taft. The firm has built a nationally recognized platform with significant momentum and growth. Within the construction industry specifically, Taft has a strong reputation and is consistently recognized as one of the leading firms handling major construction matters."
Malone earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his B.S. from the University of Northern Colorado. While attending law school, he externed for the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio, assisting the court in evaluating discretionary appeals.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Taft combined with Sherman & Howard, Denver's oldest and third-largest firm, adding offices in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico. Since the merger announcement, the firm has welcomed 38 attorneys to its Colorado offices, deepening its bench in construction, corporate, labor and employment, fintech, intellectual property, litigation, private client, and domestic relations matters. Taft also recently signed a lease at Block 162 in Denver, expanding its office footprint to more than 100,000 square feet across three and a half floors. This continued growth reflects the firm's long-term commitment to Colorado.
