The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors immediately, because they pose a risk of serious burns to consumers. Models affected include the MAXX and MAXX Advance.
CPSC's investigation revealed that the doors can suddenly close on consumers' arms while the oven is on, causing burns.
The original importers, Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC, went out of business and are unable to conduct a recall. The current owner of the Kalorik brand, The Legacy Companies, LLC, has declined to participate in a recall of the affected ovens.
The ovens were sold by Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC from April 2020 to January 8, 2024. The Legacy Companies, LLC sold the products after June 23, 2025.
CPSC urges consumers to immediately dispose of the defective ovens following local hazardous waste disposal procedures.
The Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors were marketed and sold under the Kalorik brand, as the MAXX and MAXX Advance models. The ovens have a metal frame and spring-loaded bilateral "French doors" made of glass with metal handles. The products with the door hazard may have been sold with various SKUs, Item Numbers or "Model" numbers that include the basic models, only differentiated by the number of accessories included, or the display panel used, offering options to consumers.
Report incidents involving the Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens, or any product-related injury, to CPSC atwww.SaferProducts.gov.
