UPDATE - Flood Recovery Progress – Pacific Northwest

As reported, BNSF continues recovery efforts following historic rainfall and flooding across the Pacific Northwest. Crews remain deployed throughout impacted areas, working to restore service safely and efficiently.

BNSF crews work to keep flooding debris clear around the Mt. Vernon Bridge over the Skagit River in Washington.

Current Status by Subdivision:

  • Scenic Subdivision: Returned to service early today.
  • Bellingham Subdivision: Scheduled to return to service this afternoon.
  • Stampede Subdivision: Repairs underway; reopening anticipated by end of the weekend.
  • Sumas Subdivision: Remains out of service with no road access; estimated time of reopening pending.

Weather conditions are improving temporarily, but additional rainfall is expected late Sunday. We remain prepared with crews, materials and equipment staged to respond quickly.
