Dec 12, 2025
NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue School of Radiologic Technology today celebrated the commencement of its 51st graduating class, awarding diplomas to 20 students who have completed the rigorous, 24-month Radiologic Technology program. Since its founding in 1972 and the graduation of its first cohort in 1974, the school has trained more than 700 imaging professionals. Today, 40 students are enrolled across the first- and second-year classes. All academic, laboratory, and clinical instruction is conducted on-site at Bellevue Hospital, offering students unparalleled exposure to high-acuity, real-world learning in one of the nation's oldest and most storied public hospitals. Graduates are eligible to apply for American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and New York State licensure. Graduates will enter the healthcare field as highly sought-after, licensed professionals in roles including Radiologic Technologist, Mammography Technologist, MRI Technologist, and CT Technologist. Their expertise will strengthen diagnostic and clinical services, meeting a growing demand for advanced imaging and specialized patient care across New York City and beyond.
"Congratulations to the members of the Bellevue School of Radiologic Technology's 51st graduating class," said NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue CEO Eric Wei, MD, MBA. "Radiologic technologists are the backbone of modern medicine. Every day, your work helps guide diagnosis, treatment, and lifesaving care. Bellevue Hospital has been a center of medical innovation and learning for nearly 300 years, and your graduation continues that legacy. You are stepping into a field that blends cutting-edge technology with the human touch, and I have no doubt that the skills, compassion, and professionalism you cultivated here will make a profound impact on the patients you serve."
"This is a proud moment for our school and for Bellevue Hospital," said Erfan Karim, MPH, Academic Dean of the NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue School of Radiologic Technology, and Chief Operating Officer at Bellevue Hospital. "Radiology is one of the most essential and technologically advanced services in healthcare. From routine diagnostics to complex trauma care, medical imaging is central to how clinicians understand what patients need. For more than five decades, Bellevue Hospital has been committed to training radiologic technologists who are not only technically skilled but deeply dedicated to patient-centered care. This program reflects Bellevue Hospital's longstanding identity as a teaching hospital where innovation, equity, and excellence are woven into everything we do."
"We are very proud to celebrate the graduating class of 2025 and the longevity of the program at Bellevue Hospital," said Kenneth Martinucci, Ed.D., RT(R) (ARRT), Program Director, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue School of Radiologic Technology. "This ceremony honors 20 distinguished students who have completed a rigorous training experience and now join a long tradition of Bellevue Hospital graduates serving patients with skill and empathy. While we are always thrilled when graduates choose to stay within Bellevue Hospital and the public hospital system, we know that wherever they go, they will carry forward the reputation of this program with excellence."
The Bellevue School of Radiologic Technology's mission is to prepare, educate and train a diverse population of students for entry into the profession of radiologic imaging. Graduates of the school are able to support all other health care professionals, serve a diverse community of patients, equitably provide patient care, radiation protection, and imaging expertise with the highest quality in an atmosphere of diversity, with dignity and respect to the patient.
