The Marion County Board of Commissioners is proud to recognize National 4-H Week, Oct. 5-11, 2025, with this year's theme, "Beyond Ready," highlighting 4-H's mission to prepare youth for a rapidly changing world.
4-H is America's largest youth development organization, serving six million young people nationwide in partnership with more than 100 public universities through Cooperative Extension. Through hands-on projects and programs, 4-H members develop essential life skills such as responsibility, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. These experiences foster confidence, encourage community engagement, and provide opportunities to explore future careers.
In Marion County, 4-H youth have achieved remarkable success this year. Members advanced to state and national competitions in horticulture, poultry, and shotgun, with twelve participants in the state horse show and six advancing to the Southern Region Horse Show. The 4-H Pollinator Habitat Ambassadors educated 820 peers on the importance of pollinators, promoting environmental stewardship locally and statewide. Across numerous projects, 4-H youth are applying life skills to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
The Board of Commissioners formally proclaims Oct. 5-11, 2025, as National 4-H Week in Marion County. Residents are invited to join in celebrating and encouraging the youth who are preparing to shape the future.
