Sri Lanka's Tri-Forces continue to play the leading role in national post-disaster relief work. Tri-Forces troops on the ground swiftly acted to address the immediate needs of affected communities and strategically support key restoration and rehabilitation efforts. They work within the national strategy under the 'Rebuild Sri Lanka' programme to ensure an efficient, unified response to post-disaster recovery.
The recent cyclone "Ditwah" had caused widespread floods and landslides across several provinces, and tri-forces engineering units are clearing landslides, restoring access routes and supporting the repair of damaged utilities in liaison with the government mechanism. This includes helping to restore damaged water-treatment plants. Troops continue to manage temporary shelters, provide food, clean water, and medical assistance, manning mobile kitchens, ensuring meals reach displaced individuals on time. Tri forces are actively engaged in clearing homes and public areas of mud and debris, assisting families, and providing logistical support for aid distribution.
The seamless coordination between the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, and Air Force, together with other organizations, remains crucial to the success of the post-disaster phase, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the nation's security establishment to ensure the safety and welfare of the civilian population.
