EL PASO, TEXAS - January 7, 2025 - At approximately 3:30 a.m., El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of family violence occurring at the 600 block of Zinc Place, in El Paso County, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies noticed the suspect leaving the scene in a gray 2024 Chevrolet pickup truck. Deputies communicated the suspect's information to assisting law enforcement agencies. Once inside the residence, deputies discovered the female victim had been severely stabbed. She was immediately transported to a local area hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The 27-year-old female victim was later identified as Dafne Michelle Davila.
Through the combined efforts of the Texas Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers and the Reeves County Sheriff's Office, authorities successfully located and apprehended 30-year-old Jorge Albert Chavez. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit extradited the subject from Reeves County Sheriff's Office to El Paso where he was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Murder with a $1,000,000.00 bond.

EL PASO, TEXAS - January 5, 2025 - The Major Crimes Unit of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a stabbing incident that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old female victim early this morning at approximately 3:30 a.m. at the 600 block of Zinc Place, in El Paso County, Texas.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim had been severely stabbed. She was immediately transported to Del Sol Medical Center for medical treatment but, tragically, succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Jorge Albert Chavez, was observed leaving the residence shortly after the incident. With the combined efforts of the Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers and the Reeves County Sheriff's Office, authorities were able to locate and apprehend the suspect while he was traveling on Interstate 20. He was taken into custody without incident.
