New Hotel Occupancy Tax Payment Portal Launching

Fredericksburg, Texas - The City of Fredericksburg is introducing a new online portal designed to simplify the filing and payment of Hotel Occupancy Taxes (HOT).

The new system, known as the City of FBGTX HOT Portal, provides a more efficient way for hotel operators and short-term rental owners to manage their tax obligations. The portal allows users to file returns, calculate amounts owed and access payment records in one secure, online location.

Beginning July 1, 2026, HOT payments will no longer be processed through Xpress Bill Pay. This change applies only toHotel Occupancy Tax accounts. Utility billing customers will continue to use Xpress Bill Pay for their payments.

The new portal is available 24 hours a day and includes features intended to streamline compliance and help users avoid penalties through automated calculations and reminders.

Short-term rental permit applications and renewals will continue to be processed through the My Government Online (MGO)system and are not part of this new portal.

Additional information, including access instructions, is being provided directly to HOT customers.
