Stafford County Government will Operate Two-Hour Delay with Telework on Wednesday, January 28

Stafford County Government will have a two-hour delay opening with telework on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, with offices opening at 10:00 a.m. Other closings and delays include the following:

  • Stafford County Public Schools - Closed
  • All Stafford County Courts - Closed
  • The Regional Landfill and Belman Road Recycling - Two-Hour Delay

Overnight low temperatures have limited the effectiveness of deicing agents, and some roadways and areas of the Government Center campus may remain icy. Crews will continue treatment efforts on Wednesday morning as temperatures rise.

A prolonged period of dangerously cold wind chills, including single digits and subzero conditions, is expected to continue through the middle of next week. Residents are encouraged to check on elderly neighbors and bring pets indoors, as hypothermia can occur quickly in these conditions.
