Bassett Healthcare Network Welcomes J. Michael Gomez, MBA, MHA, as SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Bassett Healthcare Network is pleased to welcome J. (Jay) Michael Gomez as its new SVP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His appointment began on September 8.

Gomez arrives at Bassett with more than 15 years of healthcare finance experience. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Market Vice President of Finance at CommonSpirit Health Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX. Prior to this position, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance at Patients Medical Center, a community hospital within CommonSpirit. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer at Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood in Houston, TX.

Gomez earned both his Master of Business Administration in Business and Finance and Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and political science from Sam Houston State University in Texas. He is an active member of ACHE, HFMA, and AAMC.

Gomez succeeds Craig Faerber, who served as Bassett's Chief Financial Officer from 2024 to 2026.
