Tempe updating construction codes

TEMPE, AZ-The codes that guide how homes and buildings are built in Tempe are getting an update.
Cities periodically update these codes to stay aligned with national standards and reflect improvements in safety, construction methods and building practices.
Tempe's current codes were adopted in 2018. The City is proposing updates based on the latest national model codes, along with local amendments that reflect Tempe's needs.
Residents and community members are invited to attend upcoming public meetings to learn more and provide feedback on the proposed code changes.
