Cordele, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to upgrade water infrastructure in Cordele.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver resources that will help the City of Cordele stop sewer system overflows. These new Federal resources will help the city upgrade their wastewater lift stations, aimed at helping prevent sewer spills and backups.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering $250,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.
"Every town in Georgia deserves safe, effective water infrastructure," said Sen. Ossoff. "That's why I bought Republicans and Democrats together to upgrade water infrastructure in Cordele."
"Thank you for helping us promote growth in Highway 300 and Interstate 75 area. These funds will help support the residential and commercial growth around this rapidly growing area," said J. Wesley Rainey, Mayor of Cordele.
"We are beyond thrilled to receive this funding; infrastructure upgrades have been our driving focus the last few years and is very much needed. Thank you to all who had a hand in this matter," said Debbie Wright, Director of Utilities.
